What is research?

A way to answer questions careful enough that others have confidence to trust you, even though they are not going to re-do what you did. Or be more precise, it is a way to answer questions detailed enough that others can redo what all you did and still trust you at the end. So simply publishing papers does not qualify to be a research work sufficiently nor necessarily . It all depends on how you do it!
